Save energy wid ur computer

Nowadays in every magazine youll find an article about the
latest threat to our planet:Global Warming...So what can we
ppl who use computers a lot do about it?
Here are a couple of things:
1.CO2 Saver: CO2 Saver is a lightweight program that
manages your computer's power usage when it's idle, saving energy and
decreasing the demand on your power utility. The less electricity
produced, the fewer harmful emissions and greenhouse gases such as
carbon dioxide (CO2) are released into the atmosphere.

What's more, CO2 Saver shows you the amount of CO2 you've saved
single-handedly, as well as all other CO2 Saver users combined!
So go on and become a CO2 saver...
2.Blackle: In January 2007 a blog post titled Black Google Would Save
750 Megawatt-hours a Year proposed the theory that a black version
of the Google search engine would save a fair bit of energy due to the
popularity of the search engine. Google, which has a white background and gets
about "200 million queries a day" could reduce global energy use by
750 Megawatt-hours a year by simply changing the colour of its homepage to black.
It is similar to google in every way, except for the colour...So
use it instead of google search...Save energy by making Blackle.com
your home page if not my blog.
And I know it wouldn't be fair if I asked you to use blackle bcoz the screen was
predominantly black and used a light colour for the blog myself ...So I changed it too .
Now my blog also saves energy ;)
Not that I get 200 million visits daily...but small drops maketh an ocean...

Some people may find it uncomfortable reading light text on a black background. They might find Greygle to be a better choice for them. It uses a grey background with dark text which they might find easier to read. This still allows for some energy savings while providing an easier reading experience.
